Skiing courses begin at Doodhpathri

To enhance winter tourism at the renowned destination of Doodhpathri in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA) has initiated skiing courses for the tourists and the local visitors to the tourist spot.
Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA), informed Rising Kashmir that skiing activities commenced this January, aiming to invigorate winter tourism at this popular site.
“We have engaged two local tour operators who are offering ski equipment to tourists and visitors at government-approved rates. Individuals interested in skiing training can also enroll in courses. Additionally, training is being provided to local youth who wish to participate,” he said.
Beigh said the primary objective of introducing skiing facilities is to promote winter tourism in Doodhpathri. The area boasts numerous spots suitable for skiing, making it an excellent location for winter sports and snow-related activities.
“In addition to snow sports, tourists and visitors can enjoy pony rides and ATV rides through all the service providers in Doodhpathri, generating their income during this challenging winter season,” the CEO, DDA said.
