Amit Shah Hails Reconstruction of Sharda Temple at J&K’s Teetwal

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the reconstruction of the Sharda Temple and the Sikh Gurdwara near the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Karnah, Kupwara.

In his adress, Shah described the effort as a “historic achievement after 75 years” and a testament to India’s dedication to preserving its spiritual and cultural heritage.

Speaking about the temple’s importance, Shah said, “The Sharda Temple is not merely a place of worship; it stands as a beacon of our ancient heritage and learning. Its successful reconstruction has filled the nation with pride and rekindled the faith of devotees worldwide.”

Dedicated to Goddess Sharda, the temple holds immense historical and spiritual significance as a renowned seat of knowledge and learning.

The reconstruction, following decades of neglect, has been widely celebrated by cultural and religious communities, who view it as a vital step in reviving Kashmir’s rich historical and cultural identity.

The Save Sharda Committee, a key organization advocating for the preservation of the Sharda heritage, played a pivotal role in the temple’s restoration. In a statement, the committee expressed gratitude to the government for its decisive action and highlighted the broader impact of this achievement in promoting unity and cultural renewal in the region.

This reconstruction symbolizes a step forward in preserving India’s rich spiritual legacy while fostering hope and pride among devotees and cultural historians alike.
