Afreen Hyder wins silver medal in Taekwondo at China Open

Afreen Hyder, a young athlete from Srinagar, for creating history by winning a silver medal for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. She secured the silver medal at the China Open International Championship, held in Shaoxing, China, from November 21 to 26.

In his felicitation message, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said: “It always gives me immense pleasure to see our young boys and girls showcasing their excellence and mettle in various fields on national and international platforms. My heartfelt congratulations to Afreen Hyder for achieving this milestone. I wish her continued success in her future endeavours.”

Pertinently, Afreen Hyder is set to participate in another prestigious event, the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Challenge, scheduled to be held in Wuxi, China, from December 3 to 9.
