District Srinagar shines in UT Level Rugby Championship

In an exciting showcase of talent and determination, twin teams of District Srinagar claimed victory in both the Under-17 and Under-19 categories at the J&K UT Level Rugby Championship. The teams triumphed over District Bandipora in two closely contested finals, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork on the field.
The teams’ success can be attributed to the guidance of Contingent incharge Sunita Pandita, Physical Education Master and team manager Ahsan Ali. Their expert mentorship and strategic direction were key to the players’ outstanding performance.
The championship, which saw strong participation from districts across the union territory of J&K, reflects the growing popularity of rugby among youth in the region. Srinagar district’s double victory is a clear example of the initiative of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K under which student players are encouraged to participate in different games and sports.
The impressive achievements of the Srinagar teams have been widely appreciated by the senior officers of the Department
