Bringing pride to India and their home state, Disha Pandith and Mir Arsalan Mehraj, two exceptional athletes from Jammu and Kashmir, have secured gold medals at the 4th World Sqay Championship held from November 2 to 7 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Their remarkable performance on the global stage has been widely celebrated, reflecting their hard work and dedication to the sport of Sqay.
In recognition of their achievements, both world champions were felicitated by the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Secretary of Sports, Sujata Chaturvedi. They were honoured with tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their significant contribution to the sport and representing India with distinction.
Upon their return to Jammu and Kashmir, the champions received a warm welcome from the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association, who presented them with tokens of appreciation.
“This is a moment of immense pride for the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the President expressed. “We are incredibly proud of both of you. The Association will extend every possible support to recognize your achievements.” He conveyed his heartfelt wishes for their continued success in the sport.
