A Skill Development Training Programme was inaugurated on Tuesday in Dalgate, Srinagar, by Sudhanshu Shekher, Commandant of 61 BN CRPF, under the aegis of the Srinagar Sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The event brought together community leaders, civil society representatives, senior CRPF officials, eager students, and officials from Wyath Services Private Limited, the project’s implementing partner.
The programme is designed to empower local youth with employable skills through a 45-day intensive training course for 20 participants. It focuses on high-demand fields, with 10 students enrolled in Web Development and another 10 in Service Technician training for home appliances. This initiative aligns with CRPF’s mission to promote community development and generate employment opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant Sudhanshu Shekher emphasized the importance of skill development in today’s job market. “Our objective is to support the young generation by equipping them with skills that align with the demands of today’s job market. Through partnerships like the one with Wyath Services, we aim to open doors for these talented individuals and empower them to shape their future. This is a step towards fostering self-reliance, and we are grateful for the active participation and support of community leaders and civil society,” he said.
A community member expressed optimism, stating, “Initiatives like this bring hope and new perspectives to our youth, encouraging them to contribute positively to the community. The web development and service technician skills being imparted here are crucial and relevant in today’s digital and technical age, offering immense scope for employment and self-employment.”
Saleem Lone, Director of Wyath Services Private Limited, also addressed the gathering, sharing his enthusiasm for the project. “Wyath Services is honoured to be part of this endeavour. With around eight years of experience in the social development sector, we understand the transformative impact of skill development on individuals and communities. This programme will enable students to gain industry-relevant skills, giving them a solid foundation to secure employment or even launch their ventures. We are committed to guiding them every step of the way to make this training fruitful,” he said.
This joint initiative by CRPF and Wyath Services is a significant stride towards equipping the youth of Jammu & Kashmir with essential skills to thrive in the job market, aiming to build a more self-reliant and inclusive society.
