The Jammu and Kashmir Raj Bhawan today held a cultural evening to commemorate the Foundation Day of Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Puducherry, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, celebrated nationwide on November 1.
Students, security personnel, and people from the respective states and Union Territories were special invitees to the event.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the contributions of notable figures from each state and UT, emphasising the celebration of India’s “Unity in Diversity.”
He highlighted the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to foster national integration through initiatives like Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, encouraging deeper cultural exchanges and inter-state cooperation.
“Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, states and UTs have unlocked their potential, achieving new milestones across various sectors,” said the Lt Governor, commending the artists for performances that showcased India’s rich cultural heritage and fostered a sense of shared identity.
He also urged the youth to dedicate themselves to building an inclusive and progressive society, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 .
