Mega SVEEP event held to boost voter awareness in Eidgah

A significant voter awareness event was organized on Monday at Pamposh Colony Ground, Palpora, under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program by the Nodal Officer for 25-AC Eidgah. The initiative aimed to enhance public understanding of the voting process and encourage active participation in the upcoming elections.

The event kicked off with a “Run for Democracy” led by Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Shabina Kyser, from BHSS Palpora to Pamposh Colony Ground. School students, teachers, and community members participated in the run, highlighting the importance of voting in a democracy.

During the main program, a welcome address was delivered by Altaf Shah, followed by a lecture on the electoral process by Ashiq Samoon, Nodal Officer for Trainings. Shabina Kyser underscored the critical role such initiatives play in educating the public about the power of their vote.

Nodal Officer Nighat Parveen, who spearheaded the event, emphasized the importance of citizen engagement in the democratic process. “Our goal is to ensure that every eligible voter is informed, engaged, and empowered to make their voice heard,” she said. “These events have been a great success, and we are committed to fostering a more informed and active electorate.”

The event featured various activities, including a singing competition, painting competition, and a skit performance, all aimed at promoting voter awareness. Students from several schools in the assembly segment participated in the competitions and were awarded certificates. A musical performance also added a cultural touch to the event, further amplifying the message of voter participation.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Abid Yousuf. The SVEEP initiative remains a cornerstone of electoral preparedness in the region, with the administration committed to continued outreach and education efforts to ensure broad voter participation. The day-long event saw strong engagement from young voters and the local community, reflecting a growing awareness of the democratic process.
