Asia’s largest tulip garden in Srinagar has welcomed 2.76 lakh visitors so far, with a huge number of visitors flocking to the garden every passing day. Officials are expecting a record-breaking number of tourists to visit the garden.

According to the management of the tulip garden, since Eid, more than 10,000 people have been flocking to the garden every day, and the number of visitors is increasing each passing day.
In the last six days, according to Khan Mudasir, who manages the garden, around 92,000 visitors thronged the garden. This includes 12,202 on Wednesday, 23,660 on Thursday, 17,580 on Friday, and 21,121 on Saturday.

Despite heavy rains in the past two days, as many as 9,100 visited the garden on Sunday and 8,300 on Monday.

Officials expect to surpass last year’s record of 366,000 visitors, with a further surge in tourists in the coming days. Visitors have praised the government’s efforts in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience at the garden.

This year, the floriculture department has introduced five additional tulip varieties to enhance the garden’s allure. Visitors are thoroughly enjoying their visits, and we are diligently ensuring that everything is in place for a seamless experience.

The establishment of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in 2007 was a significant milestone in the tourism landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. Spearheaded by then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the garden was envisioned as a means to extend the tourism season beyond the traditional summer and winter months.
The roads leading to the garden are experiencing regular jams as hundreds of vehicles rush towards the garden. At times, traffic cops are seen struggling to clear the traffic.

The tulip garden is also offering a 20 percent discount to school children.
Initially, the offer was until the 10th of April; however, the management has extended it until the 20th of March to allow every student to view the mesmerizing view of the tulip garden.
