In a moment of pride for the village of Tujan in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, 26-year-old Kifayat Ali has been appointed as the Operations Coordinator for Punjab Kings, a prominent franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Expressing overwhelming excitement, Ali described this achievement as a dream come true.
Having recently completed his master’s degree in Education, Ali’s passion for cricket and keen interest in the sport have paved the way for this significant opportunity.
According to family members, Ali has been an ardent follower of cricket and actively participates in the game himself.
Ali’s brother, Muzaffar Dar, expressed his joy over Ali’s accomplishment, highlighting that this role would enable him to learn and gain invaluable experience in various aspects of team management.
As the Operations Coordinator, Ali will be responsible for monitoring various activities and coordinating them with team management.
Muzaffar said that the role includes liaising with stadium authorities, monitoring security and medical facilities to ensure seamless game experiences for the team.
Muzaffar emphasised that Ali’s appointment reflects the franchise’s belief in his capabilities and dedication.
He added that Ali’s admiration for cricket stars, whom he had previously only seen on television screens, has now transformed into an opportunity to work alongside them.
“There is a lot to learn from observing and interacting with cricket starts playing in the biggest league of the world,” he said.
Notably, Ali draws inspiration from his brother, Muzaffar Dar, a seasoned media professional who has been associated with international players in domestic and IPL circuits in a different capacity.
