J&K Bank FC clinches title of ‘BIG Football League 2024’ in Srinagar..

J&K Bank FC on Sunday defeated Galaxy FC by 2-0 and clinched the title of ‘Big Football League’ 2024 played at Synthetic Turf at TRC Srinagar. Despite inclement weather, the match drew a significant audience of spectators who witnessed the exhilarating clash.

The tournament was organised by 92.7 Big FM, J&K Football Association and J&K Sports Council in association with J&K Excise Department. The post-match ceremony was presided over by Deputy Commissioner, Excise Department, Tazyan Mukhtair as the Chief Guest.

In the post-match ceremony, Aakif Reshi of J&K Bank was honored with the prestigious Golden Boot award for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament. While Shabir Ahmad of J&K Bank received the Golden Glove award for his remarkable goalkeeping during the entire league. Best Emerging Player Yawar was bestowed upon the talented player from J&K Bank.

Tazyan Mukhtair, Deputy Commissioner of the Excise Department, said that the department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse through sustained awareness campaigns in both the Kashmir and Jammu regions. She expressed the belief that proactive engagement and awareness initiatives can instigate a positive transformation in society.

“We believe that by actively involving and educating our people, we can guide them towards a more positive path. The department is committed to organizing additional events in the future, including door-to-door campaigns to address the issue of drug menace,” she said.

Tazyan urged youth to say no to drugs and yes to life. Making choices that lead to a healthier and more fulfilling future. She also expressed her gratitude to 92.7 BIG FM, J&K Football Association and J&K Sports Council for supporting such events in the region.

On the side-lines of the match, RJ Junaid Rather, who is part of 92.7 Big FM family, said that 8 teams participated in the mega football knockout league. It is good to witness the vibrant participation of our youth in the tournament. Sporting events like these not only promote physical well-being but also foster a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among our young generation,” he added.

He further expressed the radio station’s commitment to promoting such community-driven initiatives, recognizing the role they play in channeling the energy of the youth towards constructive and meaningful activities.

“92.7 Big FM is proud to support events that bring communities together and provide a platform for our youth to showcase their talents,” Rather added.

The final match was also graced by Wasim Aslam Ex Chairman and Chief Coordinator JKFA , Nazir Andrabi Chairman JKFA , Professor B.A. Shah Tournament Director and General Secretary JKFA , Sajid Yousuf Dar International Coach and Coach Educator AIFF, Mohammad Shafi Nari Ex International Footballer, Pervaiz Siddiqui Chairman SK Sports Fraternity.
