Langate girl wins gold medal in 4th UT Kudo Championship

Humaira Shafi, from Langate area of Kupwara district has won gold medal in 4th UT KUDO championship organized by Kudo Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Indoor stadium Handwara.
The two-day event was organized on February 17 in which players from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir participated.

“I have been very passionate about Martial arts since childhood. I was inspired by Tajamul Islam who is a young kickboxing champion from Bandipora district. I used to watch her every game which motivates me to join Martial arts,”

Humaira is currently pursuing her studies from Govt Degree College Baramulla, she has won 2 silver medals in WUSHO state championship and 1 gold medal in SAMDO national.
Humaira further added that she joined martial arts in 2019 after getting inspired by a girl’s success in sports and after that she joined a local academy at Langate.

“My family, coach supported me in every aspect especially my parents supported me a lot,” she added.
Humaira aims to play in the Olympics in future and shines the name of her academy and parents.
