In a remarkable literary milestone, Shahid Shabir Naik, a young and aspiring poet from the remote village of Shutkadi Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, has unveiled his inaugural poetry collection titled “NAAZ.” Known by his pen name, “NAAZ”, Shahid hails from Shutkari Sonamarg and embarked on his poetic journey at the tender age of twelve.
The 15-year-old poet delved into serious writing as an outlet for his emotions, grappling with experiences of depression and loneliness. Shahid’s dedication to his craft has not gone unnoticed, earning him accolades and awards for his eloquent speeches during the ninth and tenth grades.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Shahid Shabir Naik expressed his passion for writing, citing a long-held desire to become an author. The positive response from his growing Instagram following, @mr_shahid56, where he shares his poetry, served as a catalyst, propelling him to further hone his literary skills.
The much-anticipated launch of Shahid’s debut poetry book, “NAAZ,” took place at Rainawari, Srinagar, hosted by Liaber Publications. Renowned author Faheem Bhat graced the event, officially introducing the young talent to the literary world and marking the beginning of what promises to be a promising literary career.
