Inspired by journey of armless Anantnag Cricketer, actor Vicky Kaushal ready to create biopic

Amir Hussain, an armless cricketer from Waghama Bijbehara, Anantnag, has not only made a mark on the cricket field but has also captured the attention of Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal. Amir’s inspiring journey was recently featured on the renowned Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show.

Amir’s life took a challenging turn at the age of 8 when a tragic accident at the family bandsaw mill cost him both his arms. Despite the difficulties, Amir’s indomitable spirit and the encouragement of his grandmother became his driving force. “It wasn’t easy; I struggled a lot, but my ‘Dadi’ kept inspiring me to never give up,” he shared.

Undeterred by his physical limitations, Amir ventured into para cricket during his college days, where he not only scored runs but also went on to lead the Jammu & Kashmir para team. His journey took him to prestigious venues like Wankhade Stadium, and he even earned a spot in the international para cricket team, playing in Bangladesh.

Amir’s resilience and achievements were recently showcased on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show, where he shared his remarkable story, inspiring viewers across the nation.
Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, moved by Amir’s journey, expressed his admiration, saying, “It was lovely to meet you, Amir. I’ve been asked a lot about whether I would play the biopic role of any Indian cricketer, and today, I got my answer. I would be pleased to portray Amir’s life in a biopic film.”
