Badamwari Athletes honor outstanding athletes of Kashmir Valley..

“Badamwari Athletes” on Tuesday hosted a grand Felicitation Program to recognize and honor the exceptional athletes of the Kashmir Valley. The event, held at Badamwari, commenced with a touching recitation of “Qalam E Pak” by the club’s youngest member, Mohammad Ammar. This was followed by a soul-soothing Naat recitation by Kashmir’s renowned Naatkhan, Akeel Fida.

Bilal Beigh and Javaid Hussain extended a warm welcome to the distinguished gathering, setting the tone for a memorable event. Notably, the ceremony was graced by the presence of top-notch athletes from across the Valley, representing clubs such as Pathfinders, Alpine Adventures, Crampon Adventures, AJKMF, JK Adventure Sports Club, Kashmir Runners Club, KMBA, and Foreshore Athletes. These athletes have left an indelible mark in the fields of fitness and adventure activities.

The Felicitation Program showcased the outstanding achievements of prominent sports personalities, including Tani Khan, Danish Dhaar, Jalal Jeelani, Sunny Sajad Hyder Wani, Boyie Bulla, Mudhasir Bashir Shah, Muzamil Hussain Mir, Cyclist Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Shafat Ul Bashir, Harshpal Singh, Arshid Bashir, Dr. Anwar Hussain Nagoo, Dr. Shariq Masoodi, Numan Bashir Lone, Mohammad Maqbool Zarger, and Mohammad Afzal Zaroo. Dr. Shariq Masoodi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, bestowing honors upon these remarkable athletes.

Expressing gratitude to the dignitaries and the organizing team, the event aimed to recognize local talent capable of driving positive change in society. It was also a moment for self-reflection, acknowledging a regrettable oversight in not including other towering sports personalities of the Valley due to time constraints and unpredictable weather conditions.

The organizers pledged to foster the spirit of the sports community in Kashmir without bias, ensuring a fair and comprehensive approach in honoring the contributions of every sportsperson. Looking ahead, they promised to make “Amadi Bahar” festival at Badamwari a grand annual celebration, reflecting their commitment to uplifting the Kashmiri sports landscape.
