Sopore footballer to represent Kashmir in Santosh Trophy..

Kamran Hameed, a 23-year-old football prodigy from Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot in the Jammu and Kashmir men’s senior football team for the 77th senior men’s National Football Championship Santosh Trophy in Goa.

Kamran’s selection serves as an inspiring tale for young athletes, not just in Sopore but beyond, illustrating that dedication, hard work, and passion for sports can open doors to a promising future.
Originally hailing from Tarzoo village of Sopore, Kamran’s journey from a small village to representing his state at the national level exemplifies how sports can break barriers and provide avenues for success.

Coming from a family with a football legacy, Kamran attributes his love for the sport to his father, a renowned footballer, and uncles who also played football.
He emphasizes the role of sports, beyond cricket, in steering youth away from social issues like drug abuse.

Kamran, having played three Inter University tournaments, expresses his ambition to contribute significantly to football, inspired by his idol, Portugal’s Ronaldo.
