Ganderbal girl uses paint brush to highlight topical issues

Daniya Mushtaq, a 17-year-old artist from Ganderbal has gained recognition for her brush strokes.
Daniya’s artwork focuses on societal issues, earning her awards at local and district-level competitions.
She hopes to inspire other young people to embrace their hidden talents.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Daniya said she had started drawing and painting at a very young age and has been winning hearts with her art work. She said I used to love to play with colours, when I was a kid.
She said that she has competed in several art competitions which has not only given her recognition but she bagged several awards at local and district level.
She said, “Nowadays in our society there are a lot of problems whether it is drugs or violence against women. I paint on those themes”
