Ganderbal athletes shine in 7th South Asian Sqay Championship

The 7th South Asian Sqay Championship and Tri-NationalInternational Championship 2023 that was held at Nepal kathmandu concludes and all the players from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal once again showed their mettle by winning medals.

Eight talented athletes won gold medals, while three others brought home silver. The gold medallists in the South Asian Sqay Championship include Nazia Bano, Nasir Zargar, Riyan Bin Riyaz, Saleem Shah, Sheikh Uzair, Adnan Farooq, Mehak Yousuf, and Sajad Khan. Aqsa Showkat, Radifa, and Abid Ajaz won silver medals.

Rameez Rehman also won a gold medal in the Tri-National International Championship 2023.
Talking to Rising Kashmir coach Saleem Pathan said that they are very thankful to Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shayambir who sponsored our two players and SSP Ganderbal who also sponsored other 2 players.
He said we are committed to give best athletes from our district who will representcountry at every stage. “We would like to thank all those who are there for support and promoting sports culture in district Ganderbal.”

The total number of participants from India was 108 at the 7th South Asian championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Out of these, 57 participants were from Jammu and Kashmir and 12 were from Ganderbal.
The medal wins are a testament to the talent and hard work of the athletes who represented the region. With this accomplishment, Ganderbal has confirmed its position as a powerful competitor in the world of sports.
