India emerged overall winners in the 11th International Sqay Masters Cup 2022 and lifted the overall championship trophy while topping the medal tally with 12 medals in the championship which concluded at Pahalgam Club, Kashmir.
Around 230 Sqay artists from six countries including India, Iraq, Russia, Israel, Cyprus and Nepal participated in the championship and exhibited their talent.
India emerged overall winners of the 11th International Sqay Masters Cup, by bagging 12 medals and lifted the overall championship trophy, followed by Iraq at second with 10 medals while as Russia stood at third spot with 05 medals in the overall medal tally.
Players including Irfan Rangraz and Salma Rashid from Jammu and Kashmir showed remarkable performance throughout the championship by securing Gold medals in different weight categories.
Irfan bagged gold in open category while as Salma Rashid Mir won gold in 58 Kg weight womens category.
Irfan Rangraz from Jammu and Kashmir lifted Masters Cup Trophy for India while Salma Rashid Mir also from J&K lifted Runners up Trophy for country.
Ved Prakash Solanki was the Chief Guest on the closing ceremony.
The newly elected President, Basharat Rasool of the Association has congratulated all the medal winners and expressed hope that in near future our players will show remarkable performance at international arena.
He on the occasion also revealed that the Sqay Association is going to conduct the Inter-State National level Championship in the month of July in Ladakh.
