JKSC finalises selection list for Senior National Pencak Silat Chamionship

Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) conducted screening and finalised selection list of J&K Pencak Silat  Men and Women teams for  the upcoming  Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2021-22, at Indoor Stadium Pologround.

The championship is scheduled to be held at GHG Khalsa Collage, Ludhiana Punjab, starting from March  11  to  March 14, 2022.

Secretary JKSC Nuzhat Gul , on the occasion extended  best wishes to Senior men and women Pencak Silat teams for their participation in national championship.

As per JKSC official Pencak Silat Association J&K selected and finalized the Senior Men and  Women  teams for Senior National Pencak Silat national championship.

The Screening Committee of  J&K Sports council was led by  Nuzhat Ara , Divisional Sports officer, Kashmir, Nusrat Gazala, Central Sports Officer, and Maqsood Khan, Member Sports Screening Committee Saturday cleared the J&K teams for the said championship.

Earlier, J&K UT teams  underwent through  21 days long Coaching camp held  at Indoor hall, Polo ground Srinagar under the supervision of Coach , JKSC Mohammad Iqbal.

 The 21 days long coaching camp was sponsored and organised by J&K Sports council, in which  latest  and advanced skills were imparted among the participants.

While expressing satisfaction on part of the campers during this 21- days -long  coaching camp, Coach Mohammad Iqbal said that he is is very satisfied the way these participants showed their dedication and  hardwork in this  coaching camp.

“I am confident that we will get maximum medals at this event and hopefully will retain our overall champions place this year too,” he said.

 Moreover, the camp and screening process was also supervised by Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, who also had a quite satisfactory interaction with campers.
On the occasion Gul also conveyed  best wishes to the particpants for their participation in the forthcoming senior national championship.

Junaid Javid, Rahul, Robain Singh, Karan Chopra, Akhil, Sehaj Kumar, Aadishwar Vaid, Peer Adil Manzoor, Muzimal Hameed, Varun Singh Jamwal, Sheikh Najmus Saqib, Ajay Sharma,Kamran Gulzar, Tawzeeh Mujeeb Khan, Suhaib Jeelani made to mens list.
Similarly,  Ravees Ahmad, Nassir Ahmad Digoo, Nasir Bashir, Suheel Ahmad dar, farhan Reyaz, Tawqeer Farooq, Jehangir Shafi, Asif Nabi, Waseem Shah have been also selected in Men’s team.

However, the players who have been selected in Womens Team are Komal Dhiman, Manavi Katal, Sabahat Afreen, Aanisa Yousuf, Mysara Mohiddin, Muskan Shaban, Safiya Muzuffar, Insha Jan.Towzia, Aurusa Khan, Jahanvi Katal, Raabia Farooq, Saboora, Aamina Bashir, Sehrish Mushtaq, Tawseefa Hasan, Shaniba Jan, Farah Farooq and  Bilqis Maqbool.

On the occasion Officials revealed that Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2021-22  shall be followed by the 5th Edition of Federation Cup  2021-22,  scheduled to be held at Lovely Professional University  from March  26 to March 28, 2022.

Official added in addition to this both the national level championships will be a platform for senior teams to qualify for the forthcoming back to back  South Asian Pencak Silat Championship  to be held at  Kathmandu, Nepal ,  Asian Pencak Silat Championship scheduled to be played at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

“Similarly for the 19th World Pencak Silat Championship 2022  to be held at  Kuala Lampur, Malayasia,  and 6th Asian Indoor and  Martial Art Games to be held at Chonbri ,Thailand, later this year,” official added.

Pertinently, the National Championship is being organised by Chandigarh Pencak Silat Association under the aegis of Indian Pencak Silat Association, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India  and  Sports Authority of India and the J&K Men and  Women teams are being sponsored by Jammu & Kashmir Sports council.
