The Union government on Tuesday announced awards of gallantry and service medals on the occasion of the Republic Day which include Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), President’s Police Medal (PPM) for Distinguished Service and Police Medal (PM) for Meritorious Service.
According to the list issued my Ministry of Home Affairs, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the Jammu and Kashmir police bagged 115 PMG, 02 PPM and 15 PM awards, announced on the occasion of the Republic Day.
As per the list, of 189 Police Medal for Gallantry, Jammu and Kashmir Police bagged 115 medals, the highest number of medals among all the states and union territories of India.
Of total 88 President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, J&K police bagged 02 medals and of total 662 Police Medal for Meritorious Service, J&K police bagged 15 medals.
As per the list, President’s Police Medal from Jammu and Kashmir police were bagged by ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh and ADGP Headquarters, Munish Kishore Sinha.
