As a part of iconic week celebrations being held across the UT, celebrations were held at Pahalgam club during which a street food festival and painting exhibition was conducted by JKTDC.
Besides, an exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms was also organized during the event. Stalls of other departments including KVIB displaying a plethora of goods were also installed. Several items of handmade articles like crewel bags, hand woven shawls, etc were displayed. Dishes from traditional Kashmir cuisine like mosh krad, handkoker, nadurpalak , zumbrtool etc were available at the food stalls. The event attracted large footfall of locals as well as national and international tourists.
Inaugurating the event SDM Pahalgam said that such events are being organized to boost the tourism industry and to uplift the local artisans. Meanwhile, a live painting demonstration was also held, here.
The event was attended by JD Handicrafts and Handloom, Tehsildar Pahalgam, AD handicrafts and Handloom, AD Tourism DIO Anantnag and other concerned officers and officials.
