KU figures among top 50 universities in NIRF Ranking-2021

The University of Kashmir (KU)  secured 48th position in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2021 among the top 100 universities in India.
The varsity has scored 46.97 points followed by 60.49 points for the parameters that measure the teaching, learning and resources, 19.51 points for the research and the professional practices, 77.03 points for graduation outcomes and 50.12 points for the best outreach and inclusivity.
In the NIRF-2021 ranking which is conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), KU last year also bagged 48th position among the top 100 universities of Kashmir.
Besides, the varsity has also bagged 76th position amongst all universities, IITs and other institutions. The university has improved by three ranks as compared to last year rankings in which the varsity had secured 78th position.
According to the NIRF ranking, the KU had bagged 47th position and 73rd in the year 2017.
KU’s registrar Nisar Ahmad Mir said that the achievement was the dedication and hard work of all its employees.
He congratulated all the stakeholders for achieving the new milestone in shaping the policies of the University by continuing growth, progress and excellence.
Mir said, “Besides the top research, KU has been improving in every aspect to provide advanced and quality education to its students.”
Apart from the KU, the University of Jammu (JU) has also bagged 66th rank among the top 100 universities with 42.52 points and from the engineering studies, the National Institute of Technology Srinagar has bagged 69th position with 42.63 points.
Pertinently, for the third consecutive year, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has bagged the first position NIRF ranking 2021.
NIRF was launched in 2015 to rank higher educational institutions across India based on objective criteria to promote competitive excellence in higher educational institutions.
