2 Kashmir mountaineers selected for IMF Pre-Everest camp

In a boost to the adventure sport activities in Kashmir, two mountaineers have been selected by Indian Mountaineering Foundation for the Pre-Everest expedition camp for the IMF Everest Massif expeditions 2020.

The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) had obtained around 1200 applications from all over India for the expedition and out of them around 100 was selected. The expeditions would be funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

IMF as part of Scalefour peaks in the ‘Everest massif region’ in the year 2020 from Everest Base Camp will launch expeditions to Mt Everest – 8848 Mtrs, Lhotse- 8516 Mtrs, Nuptse – 7861 Mtrs and Pumori – 7161 Mtrs.

Before the expeditions to these four peaks, IMF would be holding Pre-Everest expedition camps for the shortlisted mountaineers.

IMF has selected two experienced mountaineers Nawab Moazam Khan and Ghulam Mohammad Wani, both members of the J&K Mountaineering and Hiking Club.

This is a great opportunity for them. The Better Kashmir wishes the very best of luck and hop they bring laurels for the state.
