A 28-year-youth from Kangan town of district Ganderbal has been selected for Watson Semester Incubator Programme in USA.
Kaiser Ahmad Rather, who belongs to a lower middle class family of Tawhidpora, Kangan is doing his postgraduate in International Relations (Peace and Conflict Studies) from Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora. He is scheduled to join the four month programme offered by Watson Institute at Lynn University, South Florida, USA in August.
Kaiser has been selected after facing tough competition with thousands of applicants, who had applied for the Luff Peace Fellowship at Watson Institute. The programme is aimed at peace building and conflict transformation.
Kaiser is heading a youth organisation ‘Initiative for Sustainable Development and Peace’ in Kashmir, which is working for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals with special reference to peace.
The Semester Incubator Programme is a four month educational entrepreneurship for recent graduates with an early stage Social venture or project, complete their Watson experience as a study away/abroad from a home university, gap semester before attending university, or a pre career semester after their undergraduate degree.
Kaisar is working for creation of sustainable environment for peace promotion and modern trend educational system for Kashmir where from according him youth will nourish themselves as ambassadors of Peace and Development.
“I choosed a different path to work for my nation and I float an organization for youth we are providing them platform to express themselves and explore new dynamics of development, freedom and justice,” said Kaisar, who is presently in Delhi.
“I request Kashmiri youth to think big, dream big and work hard, nothing is impossible and there are number of opportunities present all over the world,” he said.
