Kashmir women marking their position in sports | Bismah Hassan, Nadia Chowdhary hand J&K Women’s U-23 team first win of the season

Bismah Hassan’s all-round brilliance and Nadia Chowdhary’s dream spell on Tuesday handed Jammu and Kashmir Women’s U-23 side first win of the season at SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot in the ongoing U-23 Women’s One-day tourney.

In a low-scoring encounter, J&K after winning the toss opted to bat first. Goa bowlers on the other hand made sure to make most of the lively track as J&K was collapsed on 23-6. However, Bismah Hassan came to the rescue, scoring excellent unbeaten 41 runs.

Apart from her, Nadia Chowdhary was the only batswoman to score in double digits. She made 10 runs.

In reply, Goa also started off miserably, losing six wickets at the score of 34 while bundling out on 58 runs.

Nadia Chowdhary bowled a magical spell of 7.2 overs, taking 6 sixes by giving away mere 8 overs. Bismah again played a part as she chipped in with 3 wickets, earning J&K 28-run win.
