In the recently concluded International Thang-Ta Championship 2018 held in Imphal by Huyel Longlon Thang-Ta Federation of India, the Delhi Public School Srinagar secured first gold medal for the country.
Putting in a stellar performance, the school won 4 medals – one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Ten countries including India, Nepal, Bhutan, South Korea and Myanmar participated in the event.
Hanaan won the gold, Sarah Zahoor won the silver while Inam and Muminah won a bronze each.
Principal DPS Srinagar Alistair R.A. Freese congratulated the medalists and their mentor Unjuman Farooq who has been a driving force behind the success.
He said, “It is indeed a moment of great pride and joy to see our students making the country, school and the state proud. Special applause should go to Unjuman for her commendable training.”
