The 30-year old pacer from Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Mudhasir took his first Ranji Trophy hat-trick by scalping by four wickets in as many balls against hosts Rajasthan on second day’s play in their Ranji Trophy match in Jaipur on Friday.
With this feat, Mudhasir helped his team bounce back in the match being played at Sawai Maan Singh Stadium.
Rajasthan started the second day’s play on 300 for the loss of three wickets, but kept losing wickets cheaply, adding only 79 runs to end their innings on 379 runs. Mudhasir took five wicket haul for J&K.
He gave J&K a much waited breakthrough in 96th over by removing Ashok Maneria who scored 59 runs.
In his next over (98th of the innings), Mudhasir took four wickets in four balls to reduce Rajasthan to 330/8.
Mudhasir took wickets of Chetan Bist, TN Dhillon, RD Chahar and TM Haq in four straight deliveries (98.2, 98.3, 98.4, 98.5). Rohit Sharma rattled the tail end by bagging two wickets to bundle Rajasthan at 379 runs.
Mudhasir who hails from Hazratbal area of district Srinagar has also got List-A cricket in his name. He claimed a hat-trick during a match in 2017 against Chhattisgarh in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
