Valley’s known athlete Hamid Aziz will attempt to run non-stop 200 kilometers from Kargil to Srinagar on from Sunday morning. Hamid who hails from downtown Srinagar’s Hawal area has already created record in J&K by running 110km non-stop from Srinagar to Baltal last year.
JK Adventure Sports Club is providing technical assistance to the solo ultra-run by Hamid and Youth Services and Sports has also deputed its international player Umar Nabi as an observer.
Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department has come out with full support to the athlete to help him complete this milestone.
Hamid who is associated with J&K Adventure Sports Club is a regular runner and covers almost over half marathon daily to keep in shape for the ultra-marathon.
He aims to run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in the long run.
He has participated in participated in India Expedition Adventure Race (Sringar-Sonamarg-Leh) and covered grueling 270 km adventure race including sky-running and also ran over 100 km in two days from Jawahar Tunnel to Nishat Bagh with Australian runner Pat Farmer from 27 March 2016
