The age-old bond of communal harmony.

Keeping the age-old bond of communal harmony intact, members from the Muslim community performed the last rites of 95-year-old Jagan Nath Bhat from Tral. As soon as the news of the death of Mr. Jagan Nath Bhat spread, members of the Muslim #community came together to help in performing his last rites. Many people visited the home of the deceased to express #condolences with the family. Many youths made arrangements in performing his last rites and also ferried firewood for helping the family to cremate the deceased. Keeping social distancing norms in mind, the local Muslims visited the bereaved family one by one and expressed their condolences, and people from all walks of life participated in the last rites of the deceased Pandit community member. Gestures like these showcases brotherhood and how we all are part of one community and keeps our #Kashmiriyat alive.
