10-day online Peace Education Programme begins at KU

An online Peace Education Programme (PEP) started at the University of Kashmir

The 10-day programme has been organised by The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRW) in collaboration with KU’s Department of Social Work (DoSW).

Head DoSW Dr Shazia Manzoor said the programme is aimed to help participants explore the possibility of personal peace and to discover inner resources and tools for living.

She said 1.5-hour long lectures will be held covering 10 topics including Peace, Appreciation, Inner-Strength, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Hope and Contentment.

Dr Shazia expressed her gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad for nominating the DoSW for this enriching collaboration with the TPRW.

The inaugural session of the programme was held Wednesday during which Dr Javaid Rashid from DoSW gave introductory remarks about the PEP while Dr Shazia delivered a welcome address.

From the TPRW, Poonam Sherawat and Tanuja Vashishta talked about the aims and objectives of the programme.

100 PG students from various KU departments will be attending the PEP, which will lay special emphasis on key topics in the backdrop of concerns and challenges thrown by the Covid19 pandemic.
